…And We Live Somewhere in Inbetween”
You may be wondering why this sculpture is so thin and in a rather odd shape. There are times when I am splitting wood for our fireplace and one specific piece is immediately seen for its possibilities of a second life. This was such a piece.

I did not do much with the backside. I liked that the rawness of the chainsaw marks were visible…giving her a history of her past.
In this close-up of the vessel she is carrying, you can see the symbols that make up the name of this piece. Above, is Heaven. Below, is Earth. And the People live in between. There is meaning to this relationship. Something sacred about this vessel that we need to figure out. I probably do not need to point this other aspect out…but the grain of this wood is quite dazzling.
